Configure Advanced Berth Scheduler

Before you can start vessel planning with Advanced Berth Scheduler (ABS), you must create and configure files and set privileges and parameters. When you are done, you can test ABS (on page 1) to make sure that all functionality is available and working properly.

Prerequisites

Typically, Navis Professional Services personnel perform the configuration tasks in this section.

To configure XPS for ABS:

  1. Create quays (N4 client Administration DBA Topology Topology view Quay form). For details, see the N4 online help.

  2. Associate a quay with a vessel visit (N4 client Operations Vessel Vessel Visits Vessel Visits view Vessel Inspector Berthings tab Berthings form).

  3. Create the berths.txt file (on page 1) and save it in the xps\data folder.

  4. Configure ABS-related settings (on page 1).

  5. Configure ABS-related user privileges (on page 1) in the XPS client.

  6. Configure ABS display parameters (on page 1) (optional).

  7. Modify crane reach limits (on page 1) (optional).

  8. Test the configuration (on page 1) by verifying that all Advanced Berth Scheduler functionality is available and working in the XPS client.
